The MCDS talk on child abuse is scheduled on:
1) Monday, October 18, 2004 (9am to 10:15am)
2) Friday, October 22, 2004 (9am to 10:15am)

The Monday groups will meet on Monday 18 October only & the Friday groups will meet on Friday 22 October only.

The venue for both days is Lecture Theatre 12 (5-01-LT12) NIE.



Course Description
Understanding different aspects of child development and how these influence the teaching and learning processes. Physical changes in childhood, stages of moral development, psychosocial development tasks and the self-concept, and theories of intellectual development. Application of psychological principles and learning theories to classroom learning; understanding how pupils learn and how some pupils fail to learn; proactive approaches to motivate and enhance learning, develop creative and critical thinking and problem-solving skills; remedial measures to help weaker pupils.
